Hello Giles,
loving AIRGUN101 and this is the first time I have ever been tempted or felt happy to make a post on a forum and I have now made 4 on yours!

However, I have a problem which I’m hoping you can help me with … I save all my images as JPEG and could upload these on my ‘targets to print off on inkjet printers’ post but not so with my ‘How to make my ‘exploding’ targets’ i.e. a notification came up that the format wasn’t supported.

1 out of the 5 JPEG images was accepted which made no sense to me so I tried making the images smaller and of similar shape (rectangular) to the one accepted but still no joy. So then I changed and saved the 5 images to PNG and they uploaded okay.

Is there a way of fixing things so that JPEG images can once again be uploaded to a forum post?

Thanks a million,
One keen, green air gun enthusiast!

Hi,

Thanks for being part of the growing platform and for posting for the community.

This could be a file size problem. We do limit the image size too 8mb for photo's / attachments - this is to keep the pages loading quickly. I wonder, as PNG can be smaller in size if it is a size issue. What are the file sizes, if your unsure email it to me and I can look
forum@airgun101.com

If it's over 8mb it may be rejected. We started at a 2mb limit and have slowly raised it.

Let me know the sizes and lets see what we can figure out - thats the only reason I can think would cause a rejection.

Giles is not here today, but will point this to him.

Evening,

Thanks for the targets and help posted for members.

Just to follow up what BC said -

Email the targets to BC - or check the file sizes - think that could be the issue, we don't have any other restrictions so am keen to check what happened.

Stay well and good to have you on board.

Hi both,
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. The images are way under 8MB as I tried reducing the size a few times but still no joy and all 5 JPEG images are smaller than the corresponding PNG images as follows:

Image JPEG PNG
1 339 KB 483 KB
2 315 KB 409 KB
3 291 KB 397 KB
4 243 KB 349 KB
5 155 KB 249 KB

It was image 5 that did upload successfully but not images 1 to 4.

Thank you for all your hard efforts in finding the answer to my problem BC ... I'm so sorry to have caused such a stir, especially as the issue was at my end, but at least you have put me wise for any future posts which is much appreciated! ;)
