My PCP is an FX but my springer is a weihrauch 97k. I would guess the barrels are similar. I did extensive pellet searching/trying. The H and N field target trophy was my best.
Hope this helps

Congrats on your new Weihrauch. I put many thousands of pellets through my 97. Really good quality rifle. No surprise German engineering seems to always be excellent it almost seems as though they have a cultural expectation that nothing is ever good enough can always be made better. I had better luck with JSB in the 14 grain range as opposed to the 18 grain range but this could be due to the fact that I was shooting a springer I do not have a chrono but I was guessing to be shooting around 750 feet a second that’s an eternity in that barrel. Therefore the lighter pellet moving faster may have contributed to the improved accuracy as it spent less time in the barrel. Shooting the PCP is easier but followthrough, finishing still on target, continues to be very important. You already know that. Just encouraging.

I'm on record as preferring JSB and H&N ammo. I have lots of pellets all the way from Air Arms and Beeman to Vortex and Webley that I use when I get a new gun and, yes, some of them are VERY picky. (I even have a "Frankengun" that likes Daisy!) But, invariably, every rifle shoots the JSB and H&N stuff consistently well.
NOTE: slugs are not recommended for use below 26 joules (18.44ft-lbs). Best results are at 40-60 joules (29.5-44.25 ft-lbs).
